Giving Up Your Dog
There are many reasons why you may feel that you can no longer give your Springer the home he/she deserves. If you are having problems with your dogs behavior before resorting to giving him/or her up it is worth consulting your vet and/or a behaviorist as they may be able to give you advice which will enable him/her to stay with you.
If you are absolutely certain that you want to find a new home for your dog please get contact us and we will do our best to help and if we can will offer your dog a rescue place. We are limited to the number of dogs we can have at any one time and if we don’t have any space at the time you call may ask you to keep the dog in your home for a short time until either a space becomes available or we find a suitable home. In exceptionally periods may recommend another rescue centre.
If we can offer your dog a rescue place you will need to bring your dog to the kennels we use at Hoylandswaine, Sheffield. If this is not possible we may be able to arrange to collect the dog but where possible ask that you bring the dog to us. When you bring him/her to us you will need to complete a relinquishment form signing him/her over to our care and also give us his/her vaccination certificates and any other documentation. If you can afford to make a small donation this is greatly appreciated as we will incurr costs whilst caring for your dog (especially if it vaccinations are not up to date), however making a donation is not a condition of us taking a dog.
When you get in touch we will need to know as much about your dog as possible, below is a list of the sort of information we need, it may seem a lot but the more we know about him/her the easier it will be for us to find the right home. Please don’t worry that we won’t take him/her if they are not perfect (there is no such thing as a perfect dog), be honest and tell us both good points and bad - all information is helpful. Ideally we need to know;
1. His/her name
